SGTC Launches Stand-Alone Nail Tech Program: Fall Enrollment Now Open
Are you ready to start a career in nail tech and become a certified Nail Technician? South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Nail Tech program is now open for Fall enrollment and is the perfect opportunity to turn your dreams of becoming a nail tech into reality.

SGTC’s stand-alone Nail Tech technical certificate of credit (TCC) program in Americus is a 19-semester hour program which takes three semesters to complete. This course includes instruction on manicures and pedicures, acrylic nail sets, the dip powder system, gel nails, and salon management.

Instructor Jessakeetha Maddox of Shears Hair Salon in Americus guides the students from an introductory class to mastering each stage of the program. Maddox is a licensed Cosmetologist, Hair Stylist/Nail Technician, and a 2014 graduate of the SGTC Cosmetology program. She returned in 2018 to earn her Cosmetology Instructor Certification.

SGTC Nail Tech Program: How to Enroll

Enrolling for the SGTC Nail Tech Program is simple and quick. The Federal Pell Grant program is also available for the program, suitable for undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree.

Classes can be taken from Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The students will also be offering appointments to provide nail services to members of the community by deeper in the fall semester. The details of this will be released at a later date.
